Illustrating deliberate offsetting of peg holes, called draw-boring. This is a traditional practice in which tapered pegs acting as wedges, very effectively draw joints tightly together — very tightly together. More importantly, such pre-tensioned joinery stays tight over time. We embrace this practice and use it throughout our work.
