Timber frame pavilion on Lake Erie

Shoreside Pavilion

Bob asked us to design a small structure to suit his dramatic site overlooking Lake Erie. From among several designs, Bob chose one having canted posts, for its aura of strength.

Bob had put quite a lot of thought and planning into the point of land and the small stream that flowed beside it. The untamed lake shore and the boulder-strewn edges of the newly created pond make for rich places to explore and linger and play... just the sort of experience Bob had in mind for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We are grateful to have played a part in it.

Here's a 3D sketch of the design. Concepts are fleshed out in SketchUp, and we use animations such as these to share design ideas with clients. This structure was completed in November of 2014.
