Interior Timber Accents
For the Cleveland Museum of Natural History's SmartHome, we were asked to provide interior timber elements in our live-edge style. The goal was to define and enliven a broad passage between the SmartHome's foyer, staircase, and living room.
The PNC SmartHome was spearheaded by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History as part of its Climate Change Exhibition. Built on the grounds of the museum and designed to meet European Passive House standards, the home showcases numerous features and technologies that reduce energy use. Much has been written about this ambitious home and can be found online and at CMNH.org.
We collaborated with Chuck Miller of Doty & Miller Architects on the details, as well as the venerable Mark Hoberecht of HarvestBuild. Together they led the design of this influential project.
