A Childhood Barn: Dismantled, Repaired, Jazzed-up, and Rebuilt
Maurine had the chance to salvage the barn in which she played throughout her childhood at her grandfather’s farm in Pennsylvania. She came to us with ideas about rebuilding it. We couldn’t resist.
Although years of roof leaks had damaged some pieces, many of the principal posts and beams were sound. After dismantling and taking inventory, we designed a slightly smaller structure to be rebuilt near Maurine’s home in Ohio. Her barn is now host to music recitals, meetings, wedding showers, family gatherings, and other events.
